Seizures associated with idiopathic epilepsy are a serious and life-threatening condition in dogs.

ACI is currently enrolling patients in a prospective, randomized, placebo-controlled, multicenter clinical trial to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of an investigational oral therapy for the control of seizures in treatment naïve dogs with idiopathic epilepsy.

This is a fully funded study.

Owner Participation / Commitment
  • Owners must be willing to commit to the study visit schedule over a 168-day duration.
  • Owners will be required to give their dog study medication twice a day and record in their Owner Dosing Log.
  • Owners must monitor their dog for seizures, record all seizures in an Owner Diary, and report all seizures to the Study Veterinarian.
Eligibility
  • Dogs must weigh ≥ 6.5 kg.
  • Dogs must be ≥ 6 months and < 6 years of age.
  • Dogs must have a minimum of three generalized seizures (tonic-clonic, tonic, clonic, atonic, myoclonic) during the Screening Period.
  • Dogs must be screened by a Study Veterinarian within 6 months of the initial onset of seizure-like activity.

The Veterinary Investigator at the study site will determine if your pet meets other eligibility criteria and may enroll in the study.
